The Brussels art scene - One City, One Boom, two scenes
By Nicolai Strom-Olsen
KUNSTforum #3 2011
The Norwegian art magazine KUNSTforum published an article about the Brussels art scene. In 'En by, en boom - to scener / The Brussels art scene - One City, One Boom, two scenes', Nicolai Strom-Olsen comments that 'Brussels is the capital of a country without a government. In the vacuum artists, gallerists and institutions are collaborating. Together they are bringing about a vigorous proliferation of new galleries and showrooms. A city of possibilities, and not least, with a genial athmosphere".
Interviews with Lissa Kinnaer (BAM), Dirk Snauwaert (Wiels), Michael Callies (Dépendance), Karen Renders (Art Brussels), Elisa Platteau (Elisa Platteau & Cie Galerie), Sonja Dermience (Komplot), Johan Pas (Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp) and Michel Draguet (Royal Museums for Fine Arts in Brussels).
