The renowned Ghent sculptor, drawer and graphic artist George Minne (1866-1941) has his own online museum with over 680 works from the collections of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA), the Museum of Fine Arts (Ghent), the Groeningemuseum (Bruges) and the Museum of Deinze and the Leie Region (Deinze).
Dozens of new high resolution photos were taken. Thanks to collaboration with Lukas, Art in Flanders it is possible to zoom in quite closely on most of the works. Users who wish to order an image or reproduction will be guided directly to the appropriate page of Lukas, Art in Flanders. A separate section features four sketchbooks by Minne from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent.
'George Minne | An online museum' is an initiative of the Flemish Art Collection (Vlaamse Kunstcollectie vzw (VKC)), an umbrella organisation that stimulates collaboration between the various art collections in Flanders and engages in the international promotion of these collections. The Flemish Art Collection has previously launched online museums on the Flemish Primitives and James Ensor.
