de vylder vynck tailleu architects - People meet in Architecture - Venice Architecture Biennial 2010
Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima, who together with her partner Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA architects recently received The Pritzker Architecture Prize 2010, is this year’s commissioner of the Venice Architecture Biennial. She invited Belgian architects de vylder vinck tailleu to participate in the biennial’s exhibition People meet in architecture.
Architects de vylder vinck tailleu, before called jan de vylder architecten, are honoured to be among many people whose work they consider to be a source of inspiration.
SANAA appreciates in particular the drawings made for the project 100 villas of 1000 square meter for inner Mongolia China. For the Biennial these drawings will be reworked and entitled ‘7 houses for 1 house’.
With the exhibition and the title People meet in architecture Director Sejima refers to the interaction between people and architecture, the engagement between architects and people and the participation of people. The participants, individual architects and teams, will each have their own space and will curate their own exhibition. They each will create their own space and will have to take both the visitor’s physical and conceptual experience into account. The exhibition will be conceived as a series of spaces rather than a series of objects.
The Venice Architecture Biennial 2010 runs from August 29 until November 21 in Venice, Italy.
