Literature

To be proud of its past, present and future; Flemish literature can certainly claim to be so. Flanders cannot only refer to a rich literary heritage, it also produces some of the finest literature in the Dutch language today. Authors of comics and illustrators have become widely known, and the attention for prose, poetry, drama, translations, magazines and happenings has risen sharply over the past decades.

The Flemish Literature Fund (FLF) is an autonomous governmental institution that promotes Dutch-language literature in Belgium and abroad. The emphasis is on literary production by Flemish authors, the foreign policy focuses mainly on translation. The FLF is present at the international book fairs of Frankfurt, London and Paris and it also supports international literary events.

More information can be found at the English site of the FLF.
